Intermarché-Circus-Wanty's Georg Zimmermann Wins Stage 6 of Critérium du Dauphiné

In a thrilling end to Stage 6 of Critérium du Dauphiné, Georg Zimmermann earns his first World Tour win after riding in the break and holding off a late attack from Mathieu Burgaudeau.

Zimmermann was part of a 14 rider breakaway that was slowly dwindled down to him and Burgaudeau to fight for the finish. An attack from Zimmermann 1,500 meters from the finish line opened a gap that forced Burgaudeau to close in order to fight for the finish. By the time the gap had closed, Zimmermann had recovered enough to muster one more attack for the win.

In a post race interview, Zimmermann stated, “I just gave everything, I know the parcours because there was a Tour de l’Avenir stage here in 2018. I was in a similar situation but the GC favorites sprinted around me with 200m to go,”.

The Intermarché-Circus-Wanty team races on Rotor's Aldhu Carbon + INspider Crankset. This offers maximum options when choosing between crank lengths and chainring sizes for different stages. Offering precise data, the INspider power meter gives the team accurate power data for their training and racing needs.
